Get Fit. Get Healthy. Get Excited.
A Busy work, social, and personal lifestyle is one of the biggest obstacles when it comes to
fitting exercise and nutrition into our lives. One of the best pieces of advice that I can give to my
clients is that when it comes to your physical, mental, and emotional health? Get ready to
schedule it into your daily planner. Whether it’s a 15 walk around the block after dinner with
your kids, or a long walk with your dog after or before work. Everyone can schedule in a couple
of 30 increments of fitness into a busy week, but if you’re moving in a way that feels good and
authentic to you, then it won’t be such a chore! The positive aftereffects will outweigh the
beginning annoyances of a new healthy routine! Increased energy! Increase in strength and
improved sleep! How can you turn those down? The confidence in yourself and your own body
(inside and out) can be yours whenever you decide you’re ready.
A. This is where I will veer away from the popular fitness trainer answer. I am a trainer who is a
huge believer in focusing on a different type of result for you. I want my clients to sleep better,
feel better, move mindfully with purpose and preferably sans pain!
If you are looking to get stronger and get increased energy; well those are the results that I look
forward to helping you achieve. There is such satisfaction in making one trip home with the
sacks of groceries, holding your baby seat, diaper bag, and toddler all at once, and being able to
move your own furniture is a cherry on top!
Don’t underestimate how important strength training is to living a full functional life especially
as we age.
A. I am not the trainer who will tell you to stop having a glass of wine with dinner now and then, or
to avoid your own birthday cake! What kind of a life is that? I WILL stress that whole foods are a
priority over processed, but it’s all about balance! Eat regular meals, focus on how you feel
during the day and learn to reconnect with your own biofeedback. Many of us have no idea
when we actually feel hunger during the day! After so many years of restricting, diets, and
shoving our hunger cues down; it can be jarring to get used to truly feeling what our bodies
want. Add this along with a solid sleep hygiene routine, and you will be surprised that your
body will shift and those unbearable cravings will start to lessen. Without the proper nutrients,
a workout can feel more painful, you will have less physical and mental stamina, you will feel
more weak, and have less energy. Fats, Proteins, Carbohydrates, and proper hydration can aid
in making your workouts easier and more efficient! Your body needs all those things to keep
your muscles, heart, brain, and organs working at their top capacity. It’s easier than you think to
learn and implement some new dietary habits and substitutes. Let me point you in the right
direction!
